RECIPE DISCOVERY

Find a recipe with the ingredients you have

Use Recipe Discovery to build a practical shortlist, check what is missing and make the recipe fit your meal.

An ingredient match is a starting point. Read the whole recipe before cooking or logging it.

Start with the ingredient you want to use

A fridge full of ingredients does not always make dinner obvious. Start with one or two things you want to use: perhaps chickpeas and spinach, or tofu and a pepper. Open Recipe Discovery and use search or Use What I Have to narrow the catalogue.

Keep the first search simple. You are looking for a workable direction, not necessarily a recipe that exactly matches every item in the kitchen. The recipe catalogue is bundled in the app and can be browsed offline; Coach and other AI features are separate connected services.

Choose from the full recipe, not the picture

Open a result and read the ingredients, preparation steps and serving information. Check whether it needs an ingredient you do not have, equipment you cannot use or more preparation than you want to do. A recipe can look right in the results and still be the wrong choice for tonight.

If you need to avoid an ingredient, inspect the complete list and the labels of the products you will use. A catalogue category or a search match is not a guarantee about allergens or suitability for your individual needs.

Keep a shortlist you will use

Use Favourites for recipes you would like to return to. A short list of meals you can prepare is often easier to act on than saving every appealing picture. Compare two or three options and choose the one that fits your ingredients and time.

Keep planning and shopping distinct. A saved recipe is not proof that every ingredient is in your kitchen. My Plan and the separate Shopping list serve different purposes; review the relevant list before shopping rather than assuming one has automatically completed the other.

Check portions and substitutions

Read the serving information before cooking. If you change the quantities or substitute an ingredient, the food you prepare may no longer match the recipe’s original nutrition. Do not copy the original values unchanged merely because the meal has the same name.

For example, replacing one product with another can change the nutrition even if both play the same role in the dish. Keep the actual product and amount in mind when reviewing the meal for your Diary. Where information is unavailable, keep it unknown rather than inventing a precise value.

Log what you ate, not what you planned

A favourite recipe is an idea you saved. A Diary entry is a record of what you chose to log. Before adding the meal, check the portion, date and meal slot, especially if you cooked several servings or kept some for another day.

The useful sequence is simple: search, read, choose, prepare, review. Recipe Discovery helps with the choices; you decide what you actually cook and record.

An app guide, not individual medical or nutrition advice.
